World Champions Cyan Racing kicked off their 2021 WTCR campaign at the infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife this weekend. With some tricky conditions adding to the challenge of the ‘green hell’, they scored a double podium in race 1. Yvan Muller and Santiago Urrutia claiming P2 and P3 respectively. It was however a more challenging weekend for reigning champion Yann Ehrlacher, who had some contact, but never the less managed to secure 2 points finishes. Having the heaviest BOP’d car on the grid is a testament to the underlying pace of the car and its success. However the straight line speed advantage of some of the other manufacturers means the Lynk & Co’s were unable to defend on the long back straight, so they will be hoping this is looked at and addressed for the next races.
