Congratulations to Jason Zhang for winning the prestigious Macau GP for the second year in a row and with it sealing the 2021 TCR Asia drivers title. Teammate Ma Qing Hua had started the weekend strongly, with pole position and a win in the first race. But it was an eventful final race with teammates Ma, Zhang and Sonny Wong battling race long in the 3 podium positions. However first Wong and then Ma suffered punctures, with Ma’s occurring on the last lap to deny him the win, though he still held on for second place after a penalty.
For the Shell Teamwork Lynk & Co Racing team its been a year of domination, the Macau wins capping off a clean sweep of drivers, teams and manufacturers titles. The team having won 10 out of the 12 rounds in TCR Asia.
