It was a successful home weekend for Geely as the WTCR completed the first of 2 rounds in China at the new Chengdu Tianfu International Circuit. Yann Ehrlacher was the fastest in qualifying, but his Geely Preface TCR on pole. But in race 1 it was team mate Santiago Urrutia who took the win for a Cyan Racing 1-2. The reverse grid race 2 say the blue cars make good progress forwards to secure more points with Urrutia making it onto the podium again. This gave him pole for the 3rd and final race and the result was a repeat of race 1 with another 1-2 finish for him and Yann.
With 2 rounds left its tight at the top of the drivers championship, with Urrutia in P2 and looking to win his first world championship. In Teams championship its a more comfortable lead for Geely Cyan Racing, impressive for a car in its debut year to be leading the standings.
