A look back at our customers successes in the past year…
BTCC – The BTCC entered the hybrid era in 2022, with EY3 helping West Surrey Racing to producing yet another debut winning car. Jake Hill won the Goodyear Wingfoot award for best qualifier, with teammate Colin in 2nd place. Some bad luck meant they finished 3rd and 4th in the drivers championship. But the BMW 3-series took the manufacturers title for the 7th year in a row, with 9 wins in 2022.
TCR South America – Fabricio Pezzini claimed the 2022 TCR South America drivers championship, with his team PMO Motorsport also winning the Teams championship. The first titles for the Lynk & Co 03 TCR car in South America.
TCR Asia – A difficult year logistically in China, but on track it was yet another dominant display for the Shell Teamwork Lynk & Co Racing team in 2022. Their drivers finished 1-2-3 in the championship with David ZHU taking the title. Also taking home the team and manufacturer titles with 8 out of 12 race wins this season. That included another prestigious Macau victory, the 3rd year in a row for ZHANG Zhi Qiang.
TCR Scandinavia – Mattias Andersson took a win in the STCC championship race at Gelleråsen from pole position. Great to see the Lynk & Co 03 TCR win in the Orange colors of the MA:GP team.
WTCR – A shortened year with Cyan having to pull out mid season due to ongoing tyre safety issues meant no World Championship titles for the first time since the Lynk & Co 03 TCR car debut in 2019. Though that didn’t stop Santiago Urrutia notching up 2 more wins in the early races. With the current format WTCR series coming to an end, we can be very proud of the past 4 years, in which the Lynk & Co 03 TCR took 20 wins, 2 drivers and 3 manufacturer world titles.
Congratulations and happy new year to all our customers from everyone at EY3 – we wish you all the best and look forward to supporting you in what promises to be an exciting 2023 season.
